California after Christmas

The entire Stapley family headed to San Juan Capistrano for Fern's (Elissa) wedding. It was a fun quick trip!

Fern and Trevor got married on December 28 which is a very special day that is well known within the Stapley family. Grandpa and Grandma Stapley got married on that day in 1951, Amamda Stapley and Mark Earnest got married on that day in 2002, Rob and I got married on that day in 2007, and now Elissa Stapley and Trevor Bruce. It is especially special to me and Rob because his parents also got married on that day in 1982.

During our stay in California we visited the Frey's, Rob's grandparents/aunts/uncles/cousins. It was great for them to see baby Aubree at a fun age.

Rob, Aubree, and I were lucky enough to stay the night at cousin Becca and Steve's house. Danny and Aubree loved playing with each other every morning.

Fern and Trevor got married in the Newport temple. Oh I love that temple! Rob and I were grateful to attend the beautiful ceremony.

The reception was held at the Stapley's home. It was amazing! So was the food (I had thirds)!!

Oh and Happy 4 year Anniversary to me and Rob! Yahoo!

Christmas Day

This was the best present under the tree on Christmas day!

Christmas was the best this year! We spent the morning with the Laney's and the afternoon with the Stapley's, and that night with both families. We are so lucky!

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve the Stapley family tradition is to have Jordan's Mexican food. We grew up on the stuff, it is our favorite!! We held this special occasion at the farm where we had a hayride, rode horses, and had a bonfire. It was so great to spend time with our family! Afterwards, we put together a bunch of gifts to give to a few families in need. What a touching experience that was for everyone! I love doing that every year.
Aubree's first time on her horse, Trigger.
Aubree is obsessed with all her boy cousins.
Love these two.
Aubree loves her Uncle B.

Aubree was excited to meet A.J.
Aubree loved Trigger's nostrils.

Half a Year

Happy 6 months to our sweet baby Aubree! Can you believe it?! Every day she learns something new and it brings a tear to my eye because she's growing up so fast (I say that every month). It was fun to be home (in AZ) while she turned 6 months because our family and friends got to see how fun and cute she's become (compared to when they saw her last - she was 2 weeks old). We love this gal so much!

Aubree's Instafriends

While we were in Arizona we got to meet up with some of my best friends who also had babies this year. It was fun to put the babies together for a group photo.

Brody Ortega, Bennett Dickson, Jonah Niu, Aubree
And then there is cute little Cecilia Rose Riter. BFF from the start!
Thanks Dave and Amy for being such great friends.

sick baby

We've got a sick baby in the house, so sad. This is Aubree's first cold. Her nose is so stuffed, she can't breath and suck on her binkie at the same time...well she'll try to suck for a few seconds, then take a deep breath. The snot bubbles are the funniest, but it is still sad. We hope she gets better before we leave to Arizona.

still eating leftovers

Thanksgiving Day: I made my first turkey and let me tell you....I was sweating bullets the entire process! It was stressful. But now that I know what to do and what not to do, I wouldn't mind doing it again. I have to admit, the bird turned out perfectly and was so delicious!
We were lucky enough to spend Thanksgiving with our good pals the Nilssons. Because it was just us 4 adults, we had SO MUCH FOOD LEFTOVER, but we didn't care because leftovers are the best part.
Ooooh how I love Thanksgiving food. Rach made the most mouth-watering yams and cranberry sauce. Everything we made was amazing! I think we did great for making our first Thanksgiving meal. The only thing we were missing was my Grandma Stapley's sauerkraut - it is to.die.for
Black Friday: I still can't believe we had enough energy to wait in line at Target. By the time I went to bed that night, I had been up for 21 hours. When that happens: me=grouchy.
Look at us gems.
Saturday: Rob, Aubree, and I went to the beach and relaxed the rest of the day. We were still so full of food!
Sunday: Rob and Aubree couldn't go to church because they got a cold :(

All in all, it was a great Thanksgiving weekend. Even though we really missed our families, it is great to have wonderful friends here who we consider family.
