Lake Powell

Rob, my mom, Aubree, and I flew home to Arizona - got in at midnight and left for Lake Powell the next morning...talk about exhuasting, especially with the 3 hour time difference. Aubree did AMAZING on the plane - she slept the ENTIRE time, I'm not kidding. I was still sweating bullets because I wasn't sure how she would do and I thought people would judge me if she cried a little, but she was a saint. It was very helpful having Rob and my mom there.

A lot of people thought we were crazy when we told them we were bringing our 2 week old to Lake Powell, but it ended up being a lot of fun and Aubree was a champ. She practically slept the whole time and everyone loved having her there. My family was invited to come this year so it was great to have them there also. Thank you Laney's for a great trip, as always.

One Month Stats

Aubree is growing up too fast!
She is so alert.
She can hold her head up.
She will have a conversation with you with her coos.
She smiles and grins back at you - it makes me tear up it is so cute.
She fights her sleep.
She sleeps in her crib in her own room.
She hates to be swaddled but it helps her sleep better.
She loves to eat and toots a lot.
She is obsessed with her swing.
She likes to take baths and showers.
She loves the beach.
She loves snuggling with her blankie.
She likes to read books with Daddy.
She has her Daddy's receding hairline.

My Little Bug,

On July 17, 2011 your dad gave you a name and a blessing. Your Grandpa & Grandma Stapley happily let us bless you in their home in Mesa, Arizona - that way your entire family from both sides could attend. It was so wonderful having the Stapley's, Laney's, Merrill's, and the Frey's there to experience such a special day for you.

We started off by singing "Families Can Be Together Forever" and Uncle Greg Merrill said the opening prayer. Your dad did an amazing job - the spirit was so strong. Your dad and I couldn't imagine loving someone so much. Everything you do is so cute and we cherish every moment we have with you. We love you very much and are incredibly grateful to have you in our lives. You have such a sweet spirit and we are anxious for you to become a beautiful young woman.

Happy 4th!

For the 4th we went to a ward breakfast, the Naples parade, and to the beach to watch the fireworks. Aubree was so festive, she even painted her nails red!
