Weird Wednesday

Have you ever seen a gallon of milk like this?....weird. And to top it off, it is $3.50!! Ridiculous.

Turtle Nest

I have kept my eye on this nest for a few days now knowing it was about to hatch. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen - it was fascinating to see them use their turtle instincts by following the moonlight and going straight to the ocean. They popped out of the sand and made the coolest little tracks. We had to help some by guiding them with a redlight. I felt like I was their mommy. It is sad to think that maybe one of them will survive once they enter the ocean. They were so cute - I wanted to take one home.

Key Largo

Some friends in our ward, the John's, invited us to Key Largo - it's about 2 hours away from our place. They brought their jetski and we took it out to snorkel on the John Pennekamp coral reef state park. It is AMAZING! The water is crystal clear and turquoise - I couldn't believe my eyes!

We snorkeled the Grecian Rocks. We were bummed we didn't have an underwater camera, but here is a cool fish we saw.

We also snorkeled the Dry Rocks and there is a Christ statue in the middle of them. It was AWESOME! Rob went down and touched its hands. This image is what you would see when snorkeling above it - it is about 25 feet deep.

Robbie's Pier where you can feed tarpons

You can see how much fun we had! Ouch.

Weird Wednesday

This bar is a couple blocks from our house. We laugh every time we drive by.

Shark Valley

Last weekend we went to Shark Valley located in the everglades where wild alligators roam. It is a 15 mile bike ride and along the path you see tons of huge alligators. Because it was so HOT outside - they were in the trees! We were so bummed, so we are going back in the winter when it isn't so hot. Supposedly, the alligators are speed bumps on the path because there are so many.

We only saw 2 baby gators and a turtle. We heard a bunch of them in the trees though.

South Beach Miami

Last weekend Rob and I went to South Beach in Miami. IT WAS SO HOT! We shopped down Lincoln Road where it's famous for its shops.

more onesies

This one is my favorite - it's cuter in person.

This was my first time sewing a tie on a onesie - it was super hard, notice the knot is crooked. The next one will be better :)

Onesies

I jazzed up some onesies with leftover fabric I had and gave them away as gifts. If you would like one, let me know. I have more ideas up my sleeve...

ruffles on the butt :)

Weird Wednesday

Is it really Wednesday already?...crazy. Times flies when you're doing nothing all day :). Well first, I'd like to start off by saying thank you to those who enjoyed last week's Weird Wednesday. Giant rims are rollin' everywhere around here.
Just a reminder to those who don't know what's going on...I've started a blog series called Weird Wednesday's - every Wednesday I will be posting something weird or abnormal that I've captured here in Fort Lauderdale that I wouldn't normally see in Arizona or Utah - because there are a lot of them.

This week I couldn't help but capture what happens to me EVERY SINGLE DAY (especially when I'm running late). Ft. Lauderdale is 30% land and 70% canals/isles that are led to the ocean. This is great for those who live on the isles and have yachts...hard life right? When the bridge draws, it allows the yachts to get to the other side because most of them are too big. It can be compared to waiting for a super long train.
