Nursery Colors

I just LOVE the picture that has the vase of flowers, so I am decorating the baby's room based on that and including golds and creams. The dresser was a Goodwill find (it still smells like a grandma) and I decided to paint it pastel greenish blue. My intention was to stain it also, but I like how it turned out. Now I just need to find the perfect drawer handles for it.

I still need to: arrange the room, hang pictures and curtains, find cute bedding, get a chair, etc. Once all that is done, I can fill it with baby stuff! I have 12 weeks left...sounds like a lot, but it is flying by.

I needed another pillow for the couch, so I made this one. I love how the burlap ruffle turned out.

We love our friends

We love it when our friends from all over come to visit. This past weekend our friends, Dave & Amy Riter, from Arizona came to visit and we captured some fun moments. At the beach we saw a family of dolphins who were so close to us, crabs, and starfish.

27 weeks

Sorry for the belly shots, but we are 3000 miles away from our family and they keep requesting some. I swear Sheree Jr. does flips all day long in there. She moves ALL the time and it is the coolest feeling! Rob and I have such a close bond with her already and are so grateful for this great blessing in our lives. We look forward to her arrival!

I finally went out and bought some comfy dresses for church because I can't wear pencil skirts anymore hahaha. They have saved my life!

slowly becoming a home

Our condo is slowly becoming a home. We have never owned any furniture so it has been a challenge starting from scratch. Thankfully my parents gave us their old kitchen table and couches that I grew up on. We still need a few more items like a tv stand, coffee table, and bedroom furniture, but at this point in life saving for the baby comes first.

I found this end table at Goodwill and repainted it. Do you like our "chia pet"? That is what Rob calls it, but it's not a chia pet...I glued fake moss to a styrofoam ball - it adds color.

I refused to pay $1000 for a crib, so I shopped around Craigslist and found this vintage crib (only used once) for $80. I can't decide if I should paint it. I made the blanket for Sheree Jr.

Master bedroom - it doesn't look big in the picture, but it is huge. Yes I know it is plain looking, but we have to make due for now. I have been wanting to make this anthro quilt and a tuffed headboard, but I have so many other projects I need to get to first. Rob loves the master bath because he can do jumping jacks in the shower.

Guest bedroom - It is hard working with white walls. We got this bed frame for our wedding and finally got it out of the box.

Dinner on the Beach

Rob and I have made it a tradition to have dinner on the beach and watch the sunset one night a week. It is quite spectacular! I love how the beach is never crowded, the powdered sugar sand, the calm water, and ALL the cool seashells. People will come to the beach just to see the sunsets and they all clap once the sun has gone down like they had just seen a firework show. It is funny.

There is a baby in my belly the size of an ear of corn...crazy right!?

22 weeks

The past 2 weeks I've gained 10 lbs. My belly popped out overnight. Baby is doing great and is VERY active. She loves to push on my bladder. When I poke on my belly, she will poke back. It is fun to play with her. I love being pregnant - especially all the changes that are happening to my body (eek). My belly button has suddenly disappeared - Rob thinks it's funny. I have enjoyed doing yoga and going on walks around Naples. Here are a few things I haven't been able to live without while being pregnant:

I don't know what I would do without these - I have every color.

My friend swears by this stuff - so far no stretch marks (cross your fingers)

Our condo is finally coming together. Except we need a few more things...our TV is on top of a box full of books - it works for now. We are loving Naples! We have made a lot of great friends already. I will post pictures of our condo and of Naples soon.

For Valentine's Day, Rob and I went to this yummy Italian restaurant in downtown Naples (reminds me of Balboa Island) call Pazzo!. We agreed on NO gifts, but Rob that little stinker got me the cutest gift....

Isn't it darling?! I love it and can't wait until she can wear it to the beach :)

Past 2 Weeks

Rob, baby, and I made it safely to Florida. In 10 days we moved across the country, started our new jobs, and found a place to live. We had a freight company ship everything we own (which isn't much) and we made our way in our little car across the country for the third time in 7 months. I begged Rob to let me fly but he wouldn't have it. I guess it was cool to have Texas shaped waffles again.

We decided to find a place to live once we arrived in Naples so we could see all of our options in person. Luckily, our great friend Christina Chatfield's parents let us stay at their beautiful home in the meantime. Thankfully we found a perfect condo that we can't wait to get settled in to. We unloaded everything last night and we are now headed to Fort Lauderdale for the weekend to visit friends.

Here are a few pictures of the past 10 days:

ABF truck in front of my parents' house

Everything we own 9 x 6 x 8. My dad packed it for us...he is the Tetris Master!

I am 20.5 weeks along and feeling great! She kicks and moves ALL the time...I love it. Especially after I eat and put headphones on my stomach.

Once I have time to get ready and look somewhat descent, I will post a belly picture for all of those who are requesting :). Stand by...

snowboarding

Last weekend our friends invited us to stay at their cabin in Snowflake and to go snowboarding. That is the ONE thing I miss doing in Utah, I love it so much. I wasn't sure if I should go, maybe because I'm 19 weeks prego, but after hearing that my mother and mother-in-law waterskiied up until they were 7 months prego...it was an easy decision!
I am so glad I went because we had a lot of fun! I didn't fall once :) so little sweet cheeks is ok. She had fun too!

Sheree Jr. or Roberta :)

You can already see that she has a lot of personality and seeing her in action is just so cute. She is healthy, 8 oz, and about 10 inches stretched out (long legs). She only takes up 1/3 of the room in there (proof in picture below). It looks like she is practicing her yoga moves already :)

She was yawning when this shot was taken...or screaming.

She's putting on a show...sticking her tongue out for the camera.

Sucking her thumb...so precious.

I love this profile picture of her.

Rob and I love her so much already! 5 more months and we get to meet this little lady.

Sherbert Jr. - boy or girl?

On Wednesday we get the opportunity to find out what Sherbert Jr. is. People are starting to make their predictions...it is about 50/50 so far, what is your guess?

Florida again?!

This is a bittersweet post for me because I REALLY never thought I would move back to Florida...EVER! But we are...in 2 weeks we will be living in NAPLES, FL. Yep, we are moving ALL THE WAY BACK to FL...even when we just moved from there a MONTH AGO.

I have to admit that this job offer Rob received is one that we couldn't refuse. Compared to his other offers, it was like night and day. There are SO many reasons why we went with the Naples job. The most important is because he will be dealing with finances in the medical field, which is something he has always wanted to do for his future career path. They are going to pay for his Masters in a couple years (hopefully he goes to ASU), which is AWESOME! I know this job will be worth it for our future and I know we will end up in AZ sooner than later. I can't say that I haven't complained, but it'll be a great experience. It will be tough to be so far away with our new baby, but Rob said I can fly home every 2-3 months :).

There is no comparison between Naples and Fort Lauderdale. It is super fancy and beautiful. I am happy that we are only an hour from Ft. Lauderdale and will be able to reconnect with all of our friends we made last year.

I swear I'm not pushing out.

My friends totally make fun of me because they say I'm not showing yet, but LOOK I totally am!
Here I am at 17 weeks.
I did take this picture after dinner so I would say 90% of it is food :)
We find out what Sherbert Jr. is next week! I can't believe it is time already.

Laney Update

Pregnancy: We were so excited to tell our families that we are having a baby on Christmas. They are super excited! It was hard to keep that secret for so long, especially when the baby is going to be the FIRST grand baby on both sides.

I am 15 weeks and so far it has been a breeze being pregnant, I feel great. At times I will have some morning sickness, but it's only because I'm STARVING! I'm always eating, every two hours I need a full meal. I'm surprised I haven't gained more weight because I have only gained a pound or two. I have a super small bladder to begin with so now I pee twice as much. FIVE TIMES a night isn't fun!

I would post a belly shot, but there is nothing to show. It is weird! I have a doctor's appointment next week and he'll let us know when we can find out what the little tyke is. Rob wants a GIRL (cute huh?), I don't really mind what it is...as long as it's a healthy baby :).

Laney Plans: Since Rob finished his internship in Fort Lauderdale, we have been milkin' it from my parents and enjoying being with our families. We LOVE Arizona and would love to find a job here permanently, but sometimes it doesn't work out the way we want it to. Rob has been lucky enough to interview with different companies for a financial position in Salt Lake, Newport Beach, Beverly Hills, and Naples FL. The Beverly Hills company is flying us out next week for a final interview. If we are living in a state that is TOUCHING Arizona, I will be happy :).

PS Rob and I had our 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY yahoo!

Sherbert Jr.

Rob +Sheree = Sherbert Jr. June 21, 2011
When we found out, Rob drew a picture of what he thought baby looked like in the beginning...
This is what baby looks like now at 14 weeks...
Almost the size of an apple.
We are sooo EXCITED!

Boat Show & Craft

Fort Lauderdale has an annual Christmas Boat Show. Our friends happen to live on the water so we could see the show from their backyard. All the boats were decked out in Christmas lights and jamming music. It was fun! *sorry my pics aren't very good

I got this cute idea from Dear Lillie. I need to make more for a fireplace mantel.

One More Week in FL
