My Friends are the BEST

My best friends came to visit: Kenzie Dickson and Brynn Niu! The best thing about it is that we are all pregnant. Rob was surrounded by a lot of hormones that weekend. We had such a great time: we went to the beach everyday, went on a boat tour in the everglades, and saw a ton of alligators. I had to slam on the brakes because we almost hit one that was hanging out in the middle of the road. I almost peed my pants.

Thank you for such a fun time! I am so grateful to have great friends who love me enough to fly 3000 miles away to see me :).

34 Weeks

I tried really hard to show my feet...I kind of cheated.

I am feeling great. I laugh every day at my belly button because it looks like a sand dollar. I have gained 25 lbs. and probably have another 15 to go. She weighs over 4 pounds and will probably double that in the next 6 WEEKS!

¡Cinco de Mayo!

Rob and I hosted a Cinco de Mayo party. We had an enchilada cook-off - everything was so delicious! It was fun! We are lucky to have met such great friends after our big move across the country.

The Hosts:
Señor Rob

Señora Sheree

Craft Ideas from Dear Lillie

I had some time to make a bed skirt for baby's crib, I got the idea from Dear Lillie. I used a full flat sheet and left over fabric for the ruffle.

I didn't like this lampshade, so I jazzed it up with left over fabric from the pillow above. I got the idea from Dear Lillie.

Church Callings

Rob and I have received church callings in our new ward.

I am proud to say that I am a primary worker for the 6 year olds. I'm excited to re-learn all the songs and memorize the articles of faith again.

Rob on the other hand, got called to be Elder's Quorum President. He is going to do an amazing job!

Ft. Lauderdale Beach

We are so lucky to be close to our Fort Lauderdale friends. We love visiting them and love it when they visit us!

The water was so clear.

30 weekaroos

I am so in love with this little girl. I am grateful for this amazing blessing in my life. She has already brought so much joy in our lives, I can't even imagine what it'll be like holding her in my arms. I love being pregnant, I could do it 10 more times...okay maybe 5 :). Rob loves talking to her and feeling/watching her kicks.

Nursery Colors

I just LOVE the picture that has the vase of flowers, so I am decorating the baby's room based on that and including golds and creams. The dresser was a Goodwill find (it still smells like a grandma) and I decided to paint it pastel greenish blue. My intention was to stain it also, but I like how it turned out. Now I just need to find the perfect drawer handles for it.

I still need to: arrange the room, hang pictures and curtains, find cute bedding, get a chair, etc. Once all that is done, I can fill it with baby stuff! I have 12 weeks left...sounds like a lot, but it is flying by.

I needed another pillow for the couch, so I made this one. I love how the burlap ruffle turned out.

We love our friends

We love it when our friends from all over come to visit. This past weekend our friends, Dave & Amy Riter, from Arizona came to visit and we captured some fun moments. At the beach we saw a family of dolphins who were so close to us, crabs, and starfish.

27 weeks

Sorry for the belly shots, but we are 3000 miles away from our family and they keep requesting some. I swear Sheree Jr. does flips all day long in there. She moves ALL the time and it is the coolest feeling! Rob and I have such a close bond with her already and are so grateful for this great blessing in our lives. We look forward to her arrival!

I finally went out and bought some comfy dresses for church because I can't wear pencil skirts anymore hahaha. They have saved my life!

slowly becoming a home

Our condo is slowly becoming a home. We have never owned any furniture so it has been a challenge starting from scratch. Thankfully my parents gave us their old kitchen table and couches that I grew up on. We still need a few more items like a tv stand, coffee table, and bedroom furniture, but at this point in life saving for the baby comes first.

I found this end table at Goodwill and repainted it. Do you like our "chia pet"? That is what Rob calls it, but it's not a chia pet...I glued fake moss to a styrofoam ball - it adds color.

I refused to pay $1000 for a crib, so I shopped around Craigslist and found this vintage crib (only used once) for $80. I can't decide if I should paint it. I made the blanket for Sheree Jr.

Master bedroom - it doesn't look big in the picture, but it is huge. Yes I know it is plain looking, but we have to make due for now. I have been wanting to make this anthro quilt and a tuffed headboard, but I have so many other projects I need to get to first. Rob loves the master bath because he can do jumping jacks in the shower.

Guest bedroom - It is hard working with white walls. We got this bed frame for our wedding and finally got it out of the box.

Dinner on the Beach

Rob and I have made it a tradition to have dinner on the beach and watch the sunset one night a week. It is quite spectacular! I love how the beach is never crowded, the powdered sugar sand, the calm water, and ALL the cool seashells. People will come to the beach just to see the sunsets and they all clap once the sun has gone down like they had just seen a firework show. It is funny.

There is a baby in my belly the size of an ear of corn...crazy right!?

22 weeks

The past 2 weeks I've gained 10 lbs. My belly popped out overnight. Baby is doing great and is VERY active. She loves to push on my bladder. When I poke on my belly, she will poke back. It is fun to play with her. I love being pregnant - especially all the changes that are happening to my body (eek). My belly button has suddenly disappeared - Rob thinks it's funny. I have enjoyed doing yoga and going on walks around Naples. Here are a few things I haven't been able to live without while being pregnant:

I don't know what I would do without these - I have every color.

My friend swears by this stuff - so far no stretch marks (cross your fingers)

Our condo is finally coming together. Except we need a few more things...our TV is on top of a box full of books - it works for now. We are loving Naples! We have made a lot of great friends already. I will post pictures of our condo and of Naples soon.

For Valentine's Day, Rob and I went to this yummy Italian restaurant in downtown Naples (reminds me of Balboa Island) call Pazzo!. We agreed on NO gifts, but Rob that little stinker got me the cutest gift....

Isn't it darling?! I love it and can't wait until she can wear it to the beach :)

Past 2 Weeks

Rob, baby, and I made it safely to Florida. In 10 days we moved across the country, started our new jobs, and found a place to live. We had a freight company ship everything we own (which isn't much) and we made our way in our little car across the country for the third time in 7 months. I begged Rob to let me fly but he wouldn't have it. I guess it was cool to have Texas shaped waffles again.

We decided to find a place to live once we arrived in Naples so we could see all of our options in person. Luckily, our great friend Christina Chatfield's parents let us stay at their beautiful home in the meantime. Thankfully we found a perfect condo that we can't wait to get settled in to. We unloaded everything last night and we are now headed to Fort Lauderdale for the weekend to visit friends.

Here are a few pictures of the past 10 days:

Everything we own 9 x 6 x 8. My dad packed it for us...he is the Tetris Master!

I am 20.5 weeks along and feeling great! She kicks and moves ALL the time...I love it. Especially after I eat and put headphones on my stomach.

Once I have time to get ready and look somewhat descent, I will post a belly picture for all of those who are requesting :). Stand by...
