Aubree Elizabeth

Rob and I are so grateful for this wonderful blessing in our lives. Aubree is just so precious and we love her so so much.
I was scheduled to be induced, so we went to the hospital 6/21/11 (my due date) and I was put on cervidil over night so I would dilate more. The next morning my doctor broke my water at 8am because I was dilated at a 4. I still felt zero pain. Then I was put on pitocin and got an epidural. I was floating on a cloud! It felt wonderful! Meanwhile, the lady next door was doing a natural birth and MAN did we know it...YIKES! It scared Rob because he thought that was going to be me.
1:30pm came around and I was at a 7. The doctor wanted me to practice pushing - every time I would push the baby wouldn't move. So the doctor waited an hour or so to see if I would progress - I didn't. I tried pushing again and she still wouldn't move even though she was super low.
Doctor noticed I was getting a fever and my cervix was starting to swell. She was nervous because the baby had a chance of getting a fever as well. She left the room for a second and came rushing back in and said we have to do a c-section and that the baby's heart rate is terrible. I immediately broke down. All a sudden a million nurses ran in and unplugged everything, threw scrubs on Rob, and we hurried to the operating room. My poor mom had to stay behind.
I was being as calm as I could be, but I was so nervous for baby.
10 minutes later Rob and I heard the most beautiful noise we could ever hear - her cry! We were bawling and I have to say that it was the most amazing experience I have ever had - that and getting sealed to Rob :). They brought her to us and we kissed her cute little face. She was calm and her eyes were wide open looking at us like she had known us for years. We immediately fell in love with this little one.
They cleaned her up and Rob went to the nursery with her while I was getting worked on (not fun). I asked the Anesthesiologist to put me out because feeling all the pressure from the tugging and pulling made me cringe. The doctor mentioned that her shoulder was stuck, that is why she couldn't move down any more. Once I was in the recovery room, my mom and Rob came in with baby. She quickly "latched" on - it was such a wonderful bonding experience.
Rob and I didn't name her until the next day, it was harder than we thought. Aubree was an option and it just seem to fit. We stayed at the hospital for a few more days. I loved the help I got from all the nurses! Rob and my mom slept in a chair for 5 days while I was in a nice comfy reclining bed - they are troopers. I am so blessed to have a loving husband and a mom who is so caring and helpful. I appreciate all that they do for me!

Headed to the hospital
On a cloud with the epidural - I never felt ANY pain, it was great!

Goodbye Nicholas Laney

3.5 years ago Rob and I adopted a fun loving scooter into our family and we named him Nicholas John Locke Laney (John Locke because we were obsessed with the show LOST at the time). He was always there when we needed him and got us the best parking spots in Provo. Everyone loved him!

Nicholas is being replaced with a baby and has been adopted by another family who lives on South Beach in Miami. He will definitely be living a different lifestyle, but I'm sure he will enjoy himself :)

40 weeks...ok I'm ready

The doc said if she doesn't come by Tuesday, I'll get induced that night! We are anxious for our sweet baby to arrive. We can't wait to snuggle her and kiss her mini bum cheeks.

My mom is here and we have been having fun getting pedicures, laying out, and shopping. She will be here for a whole month to help out with the baby!

38 Weeks...so close!

We are getting down to the wire! 2 more weeks and I can't even believe it. Rob and I have been getting ready for Sheree Jr. to arrive. Her room is stocked with a million diapers, the bassinet is set up...all we need to do is pack a hospital bag and wait for Grandma Jewels (Stapley) to arrive.

I am at the stage of being really uncomfortable: can't sleep, pee 9 times in the night, literally need help off the couch/bed/etc., when in the car the seat has to be reclined a lot, need help putting on shoes, can only wear stretchy clothes...I could go on, but all in all I have to say that this pregnancy has been so much fun and I'm taking advantage of every minute! The doctor says Sheree Jr. is ready and in position to arrive - she may even come a little bit earlier. I'm at 38 lbs. now and wish it all went to my chest :)

I'm so lucky to have friends and family who love Sheree Jr. so much already, they have spoiled her to the max! Thank you!

Eventful Week in AZ

What an eventful week Rob and I had in AZ! We went home for my brother Brandon's wedding and for my baby shower. We had something going on every single day -we were so busy! I was worn out from the 3 hour time difference and also from planning and helping with the wedding festivities. I would wake up at 5am and crash by 2pm. But it was worth it because we had the most memorable time. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful family and great friends!

Sheree Jr. definitely got spoiled while we were home. She has more clothes than me and Rob combined! Thank you to everyone who came and showered her with precious gifts.

My brother married Megan Nielsen, who we absolutely love! We are so excited she is our new sister-in-law.

My Friends are the BEST

My best friends came to visit: Kenzie Dickson and Brynn Niu! The best thing about it is that we are all pregnant. Rob was surrounded by a lot of hormones that weekend. We had such a great time: we went to the beach everyday, went on a boat tour in the everglades, and saw a ton of alligators. I had to slam on the brakes because we almost hit one that was hanging out in the middle of the road. I almost peed my pants.

Thank you for such a fun time! I am so grateful to have great friends who love me enough to fly 3000 miles away to see me :).

34 Weeks

I tried really hard to show my feet...I kind of cheated.

I am feeling great. I laugh every day at my belly button because it looks like a sand dollar. I have gained 25 lbs. and probably have another 15 to go. She weighs over 4 pounds and will probably double that in the next 6 WEEKS!

¡Cinco de Mayo!

Rob and I hosted a Cinco de Mayo party. We had an enchilada cook-off - everything was so delicious! It was fun! We are lucky to have met such great friends after our big move across the country.

The Hosts:
Señor Rob

Señora Sheree

Señor Rob crossing the border...

Craft Ideas from Dear Lillie

I had some time to make a bed skirt for baby's crib, I got the idea from Dear Lillie. I used a full flat sheet and left over fabric for the ruffle.

I didn't like this lampshade, so I jazzed it up with left over fabric from the pillow above. I got the idea from Dear Lillie.

Church Callings

Rob and I have received church callings in our new ward.

I am proud to say that I am a primary worker for the 6 year olds. I'm excited to re-learn all the songs and memorize the articles of faith again.

Rob on the other hand, got called to be Elder's Quorum President. He is going to do an amazing job!
