Rob and I met my whole family in California for cousin Becca's wedding. We were so excited to get out of Utah and be in warm weather. The wedding and reception were beautiful!! There was a black jazz band, which I wanted but couldn't find one. Greek food, which was very original and yummy. Aaaand my favorite part was the photo booth; as guests would come they would take pictures in this photo booth, glue it to the guest book and sign. It was so creative and a hit as people came. I couldn't get over how gorgeous Bec's dress was. Her and Stevie are darling together!
I didn't expect anything from Robbie on Mother's Day, but the dear husband that he is got me flowers and my favorite cookbook from Williams-Sonoma...even though we are dirt poor. He got up early and made me waffles with strawberries and whip cream. What a doll! He also did the laundry and cleaned the house while I was still asleep. I love him.
This couple I occasionally babysit for planned a trip to London. They asked Rob and I to babysit their kids for a week. The fun thing about it is, they are rich!!! They mentioned to us before they left that we have access to everything...first thing that popped into our minds were...their CARS! Today is the first day and it's been going well. Their mom left me an 8 page weekly agenda sheet that I have to abide to. We will be crazy this week taking kids to either dance, soccer, ChuckECheese, whatever it may be. We'll have fun!!
On April 2, my family took Brandon to the MTC. I have never taken anyone in before so I didn't know what to expect. We are in this chapel and there are tons of other families. We are dreading for the part when we have to say goodbye. At the time we were all pretty calm, but when that time came...OH MY...we all lost it. I was hyperventilating...even my other little brother, Logan, was crying. It was sad, but we knew it was the best thing Brandon
Rob and I are so thrilled to announce the adoption of our new son, Nicholas. He is our everything and adore him very much. Nicholas has been extremely helpful carting us around town and being beneficial to our financial problems. He doesn't ask for much, only $3.50 every other week. Nicholas is a chick magnet. They'll do anything for a ride. He's just too young for that still. Rob and I struggled with finding a decent name for our son. We are madly in love with LOST, so we thought of Charlie, Jack, Sayid...but then out of nowhere, I thought of Nicholas and it stuck with me. Unfortunately, Rob hates it and is calling him John Locke from LOST. Haha! All our friends and family call him both. So we have officially named him Nicholas John Locke Laney.
