Our Best Friend

Rob and I probably use this twice a week. Tonight we grilled a fatty steak on it and last night we roasted mallows over it with people in our ward. The cute little thing makes Rob and I more social. We have a bbq a week. I swear we have gotten fat from all those burgers we've eaten. We are trying to enjoy the weather while it lasts. It's perfect from about 6pm on...we love it!

Staying in Utah...

Unfortunately, we aren't moving home anymore. We are sad, but that's what school does to ya. We were looking forward to being with our families!
We will miss our fellow Arizonites terribly and will try to fly/drive down as much as we can. Heart you!

The 4th in Payson

The view from the porch is amazing!
Rob & I met some of my family at my cousin's cabin in Payson, AZ for the 4th. The firework show we saw was 30 minutes long and probably the best I've ever seen. We were so excited to be back in AZ!

the sKurf & the laKe!

concentrating
When we were at the lake I got water in my ear, no big deal, thought I could get it out. Well 2 days have gone by and I have tried everything in the book to try to get this gross Utah lake water out of my head. I ended up going to the doctor today so they could check it out. Come to find out, I have an infection in my stinkin ear :(

Past 2 Weeks...

I have only mowed one other lawn and it was my friend's down the street when I was 15. I volunteered to do this chore because I wanted to impress the boy who lived across the street from her haha. Rob thought it would be a good idea if I helped out with yard work instead of laying out while he did it. It's hard work and hurts your back, but I don't mind impressing my husband :)
Her name is KELLY! and we love her.

Slip n Slidin Sheree

This is a video I took of Sheree at a birthday party about a week ago. She doesn't know I am putting it up, so it will probably be taken down in a day or so. If you are one of the lucky few that get to watch it while it stays on the blog, then consider yourself lucky. (by the way, nice wedgie!)

In Loving Memory of BlueCrush

I will never forget the day when I filled up for gas and paid $90. At that moment I just knew it was time to sadly say goodbye. BlueCrush was my baby. It was extremely hard to see her drive away and out of my life by a Hispanic man and his amigos. She got me from point a to b since I was 16. Blue has given my friends and I many great memories - the numerous times I got pulled over for doing something ridiculous, jamming to 'You Can Do It, Put Your Back Into It', backing into Rachel's brand new parked car, makeout sessions or what my dad calls is...MOT for 'make out truck', etc. At this time of sorrow we would now invite all who knew BlueCrush to share their feelings on how wonderful she was to us. May her life be filled with hydrolics, 2-tone paint jobs, Virgin Marys, and many hombres to come.Keep in mind I have never dealt with this much money in my life. So you can image this guy, 'Faustino' who can't speak a lick of English, handing me all this cash thinking "I'm going to pull mad Senoritas driving this truck tonight". Rob and I wanted to jump on the bed and throw it in the air (like the movie Blank Check), but we decided to act like adults. After selling something so huge, we felt responsible and adult-like. Kind of like, when you had to buy your first roll of toilet paper after you moved out....weird.

Rob's Fond Mission Memories

I was rummaging through some old scrapbooks that my dad and I made together and happened to stumble upon one of his old mission pictures. It brought back fond memories. He submitted this picture to the ensign but for some reason never got published, I figured his firstborn's blog page was the next best thing. (Just click on the picture to see a larger version) P.S. Check out the missionary tan lines!

A Post by Rob

This is a bold step for me, it really is. I have never "blogged" nor did I ever plan on it. I quickly looked around Sheree's friends list only to notice that no guys use blogs...just wives. So I am trying to turn over a new leaf and enter the world of blogging. I have nothing new to add to what Sheree has said, I just wanted to add this picture of me putting a serious beat down on my dad. He is a great man and a really gifted wrestler (won state in high school, etc., etc.) . But not to be shown up by the man that helped bring me into this world, I decided to put him in what I call the "reverse semi-membranosis hold" which left him begging for mercy. Oh, and FYI, he tapped out just moments after this was taken.

Roommates
Rob and I met my whole family in California for cousin Becca's wedding. We were so excited to get out of Utah and be in warm weather. The wedding and reception were beautiful!! There was a black jazz band, which I wanted but couldn't find one. Greek food, which was very original and yummy. Aaaand my favorite part was the photo booth; as guests would come they would take pictures in this photo booth, glue it to the guest book and sign. It was so creative and a hit as people came. I couldn't get over how gorgeous Bec's dress was. Her and Stevie are darling together!

Wife's Day

I didn't expect anything from Robbie on Mother's Day, but the dear husband that he is got me flowers and my favorite cookbook from Williams-Sonoma...even though we are dirt poor. He got up early and made me waffles with strawberries and whip cream. What a doll! He also did the laundry and cleaned the house while I was still asleep. I love him.

Magleby's

I have always wanted to work at Magleby's. I decided to apply for fun once school was over and they hired me! I have a good time because a lot of my friends work there. It's fun! My summer schedule: I'm a nanny as well, so I take the kids to school every morning, go to Magleby's for a few hours, then pool time so I can get rid of this ghostly body, pick the kids up from school, do some stats homework, and then the gym with Bert (Rob). He hates it when I call him that, I don't know why...I think it's hilarious! We are all about nicknames, but I guess that one doesn't fly.

Skin Cancer?

Utah's weather always gets my hopes up and I hate it! One day it'll be 85 degrees, the next will be 50. So as you can see, I got fried on one of the hot days. It felt so good to be in the warm sun, it is definitely my comfort zone. Rob is either doing landscaping or selling door-to-door so he's outside all the time. His farmer's tan is so cute! Sunscreen is a must! PS I cut my hair...and I like it. My cousin Rebecca told me that I look like a mom now.

House/Kids Sitting

This couple I occasionally babysit for planned a trip to London. They asked Rob and I to babysit their kids for a week. The fun thing about it is, they are rich!!! They mentioned to us before they left that we have access to everything...first thing that popped into our minds were...their CARS! Today is the first day and it's been going well. Their mom left me an 8 page weekly agenda sheet that I have to abide to. We will be crazy this week taking kids to either dance, soccer, ChuckECheese, whatever it may be. We'll have fun!!

Elder Brother Stapley

On April 2, my family took Brandon to the MTC. I have never taken anyone in before so I didn't know what to expect. We are in this chapel and there are tons of other families. We are dreading for the part when we have to say goodbye. At the time we were all pretty calm, but when that time came...OH MY...we all lost it. I was hyperventilating...even my other little brother, Logan, was crying. It was sad, but we knew it was the best thing Brandon could ever do. It was such an example for Logan to start preparing! I have already written him 6 times, including 2 packages!! He's only been at the MTC for 2 weeks. Last week Rob scootered up to the temple and happened to see Brandon and his companion just hanging out by the fountains. I was so jealous when he told me. Brandon left this morning for the airport. I saw his bus in front of the MTC loading all the luggage. Of course I drove by to see if I could find him, unfortunately I didn't. We are so excited for Brandon and couldn't be more happier. He'll be a wonderful missionary in Spokane!!

Good Ol' Days

Isn't he the cutest kid you have ever seen?! Fortunately my little boys will look like this hehe.
Hahaha look at his cute little messed up teeth! Bless his heart.

I can still make that same smile and look the exact same haha.

My mom got me hooked at a young age. Nothing has changed.

Becoming Jack Shephard

I kept bugging Rob to shave his head just so I could see what it looks like. He'll say, "ok ok I will, but not now". Untiiiiiil, one of our friends mentioned that he looks like Jack Shephard from Lost, which I knew he thought was awesome because every time we watch Lost I can't help but say how attractive Jack is. Hehe! So later that week I come home to him shaving his cute little head with a neck trimmer...dork. He is so darling and I love him!

Newest Addition to the Fam

Rob and I are so thrilled to announce the adoption of our new son, Nicholas. He is our everything and adore him very much. Nicholas has been extremely helpful carting us around town and being beneficial to our financial problems. He doesn't ask for much, only $3.50 every other week. Nicholas is a chick magnet. They'll do anything for a ride. He's just too young for that still. Rob and I struggled with finding a decent name for our son. We are madly in love with LOST, so we thought of Charlie, Jack, Sayid...but then out of nowhere, I thought of Nicholas and it stuck with me. Unfortunately, Rob hates it and is calling him John Locke from LOST. Haha! All our friends and family call him both. So we have officially named him Nicholas John Locke Laney.
